Technique

Africa is moving north to Europe, in a few million years the two continents will meet. Due to this movement the whole mediterranian area suffers from earthquakes. Corfu is lucky, we have two to three minor earthquakes per year, so there is little risk. But houses should be quite stable - Corfu-town has been standing for hundreds of years and we want the houses we build to last that long also.

The base of the house has to be solid - it can be a basement, but most of the time it is a solid platform. We take care that our platforms have enough iron and that the concrete we use is set up in the proper way - the platform has to last forever.
