Building in Corfu

Building in Corfu has a few special rules you should know before you start. And the first step to build a house is to find the right property. We know a lot of properties for sale, but we also know the special circumstances you should know before you make your decision.

Town planning

Every village in Corfu has its own town planning and when a property is in the town planning area, a building permit is easy to get. Outside the town planning it´s different: In general you can build everywhere, as long as your property is big enough. The laws for the minimum size vary, currently it is about 4.000 m². That means: If you have a piece of ground with 4.000 m², you will get a building permit. But check the possibilities before you buy, in nature resorts or in areas that were not cultivated before, you can´t build a house.
