To live in an old, but newly renovated stone house has its own charm. Most of these houses are in the center of a village, you get immediate contact to your neighbours and Corfiots are always open to new inhabitants.

Restoring an old house

Quite often you will find old houses in Corfu, that are broken down, and you may ask yourself why no one cleans up the mess. But old houses are quite valuable. If one wall is still standing, you can build a new house, it is easy to get a permit because it is not a new building, but a renovation. Also the stones are valuable - an old-fashioned house of stones has its own. Our job is to build new houses, but we have renovated plenty of old ones. Before you buy one of the old buildings, come and talk to us about the possibilities, the risks and the cost you have to expect.
